The Compass
Breakfast Wagon

find your way, fuel your day

Located in Spokane, Washington, The Compass Breakfast Wagon serves up scratch-made food sourced from local Inland Northwest farms.

Since opening in September 2017, The Compass has established itself as a uniquely delicious neighborhood-based breakfast option on Spokane's lower south hill (corner of 10th & Maple, use maps to 1600 W 10th Ave, 99204). We feature fresh-baked biscuits, local/humane eggs, local sausage gravy, famously flavorful breakfast burritos, and rotating specials like avocado toast or fried egg sandwiches on local artisan bread. We think a strong cup of excellent coffee is the best companion for our food, so that’s the main beverage we serve.

We’re seasonal, running roughly April through September. We’re currently at our 10th & Maple spot Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings.

We believe food should be joyful, that it should bring neighbors and friends together in relationship. We also believe food should be humanely and sustainably raised, and that it should connect people to the land, the farmers, the ranchers, the chefs, the bakers, and the roasters who make your breakfast possible. So we source as much food as we can hyper-locally through our partners at LINC Foods, a farm co-op with these same values. We bake our own biscuits on the trailer, but for our bread-based sandwiches we use a lovely sliced country loaf from Glorious Artisan Bakery. Our coffee and cold brew is locally roasted by our friends at DOMA.

We also believe in seeking the good of our neighborhood and building our local community and economy. Like our good friends over at Field & Compass (a boutique, PNW-based media and marketing company), we want to help locals and travelers find uncommon experiences: at locally owned businesses, in the outdoors, and engaging with local arts & culture. Like F&C, our hope is to tell a better story about the place where we live, so people can live a better story while they are here.

First of all this is the best breakfast burrito that I have had since moving here two years ago.
We’ve waited all week to visit this new little wagon and it was def worth the wait. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, hashies and breakfast burrito. All were very tasty, giving you all sorts of homemade kind of feelings inside.
My husband claimed “this is the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had.”
Things I like about them: cheap (items are at most $6.50 on the menu), fast, friendly and they try to source locally as much as possible!

It's just ridiculous. But oddly inspiring.
